my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I started out as a teacher in elementary school and thought I would be a teacher forever. That lasted a couple of years until I started my own family and became a stay-at-home parent. I always loved to write and I was lving stories for children all the timeso I began writing them down. I sent them to publishers and got them back. So I reversed my teacher role and did my own homework - reading, researchings, learning the ins and outs of being an author. It was quite an education. When my first book was published I realized that was what I was meant to do all along.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I was a very shy child. I am no longer shy. Because I present programs at schools and speak to groups, I had to give myself permission to interact with others and I find that I thoroughly enjoy that. I now can feel comfortable wherever I am.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I am open to being wherever I find myself. I will still be writing, I think, because it is part of my spirit but other than that...
