I have lived life at it's craziest and survived.  I believe you have to look at every decision on the 5 year plan.  You won't know whether it was a good or bad decision any sooner than 5 years.  I've learned that live is not good or bad but that it is always different.  If you listen real hard and have an expectant heart you can learn something new every day.

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Sheer endurance!  I always say I'm going to write a book and it will be titled, "This is my life and even I don't believe it!"

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I'm more aware that life has a limit.  I've never saw retirement in my vision of life and since I have financially screwed myself I don't believe now it will be much of an option.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I wish I could say I will have solved all of life's problems but I truly believe I'll still be living on the edge.  I'll have very little in the material means but I love to fish.  It's inexpensive and provides food.  What more can one ask for?

a postcard to my younger self

You picked your friends well.  Many of them are still with us today.  Someone told you once if you end up with three true friends in life you will have been truly blessed.  We have many more than that because we were a good friend to have. You never thought you'd have grandkids but you have two great ones! Way to go, girl! Oh yeah, Mom is still one of your best friends. We still don't always agree with her but we are steadfast in our love for each other. And if you thought you are opinionated now, just wait until you know something. Age will make you extra brassy.
