my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

My mother died, I took an early retirement due to arthritis in my neck and moved out of the city and now live in a small community.  I also took up what I had always loved to do, paint pictures.  I took a lot of workshops and worked at it for a few years and have reached the level of selling some of my work and winning awards in juried shows.  I also made some jewelry which was well received by local stores and markets.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I feel validated for creating something that people enjoy.  My life is not as stressful.  One of the advantages to getting older, there are not many, is not worrying about how I look and how much I weigh.  This really frees a woman up to focus on other things!  I have a wonderful little dog that is a great companion as I am still single and really can't see myself being in a relationship at this stage of my life.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully doing what I am now.
