mickisuzanne

I'm a writer and author - mother of one, grandmother of two, animal lover, mostly vegetarian yoga practicing Buddhist serial marrier. I had a crushing illness for two years; turns out it was Lyme Disease. After three years of poor health, I moved to the tropics and started studying Iyengar Yoga. Today my health and stamina are mostly just fine.  I have survived finding out my dad wasn't my dad, being raised Jehovah's Witness, having Lyme Disease and being in an emotionally abusive relationship that haunts me to this day - if I let it.

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I think my path is not and never has been my own, The Power either has an encouraging hand on my shoulder or a big boot on my ass. I go where I'm supposed to go, I don't have a lot to do with it. I goooo with the flooooow.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Well this is the age I thought was old and I'm not.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Getting old with a man I adore.

a postcard to my younger self

Ruth Gordon played in the classic Rosemary's Baby. She worked til her dying day, LONG past all the glamour pusses of her time. There was some great quote from her that I have always remembered ... something like "beauty only lasts so long; character lasts forever."

And she was an amazing character. To be a character takes intelligence and guts.

Fortunately, my younger self DID remember that.

my role models

My Grandmother ... who didn't need a little bastard thrown into the mix at the same time my Grandfather was losing his battle with bipolar.
