my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Well it's time to get a cup of coffee, pull up a comfortable chair and here goes my story. It's a strange journey how we end up where we are currently. To me it is all part of the Universe's way of letting us know where we are needed. My current marriage is my 2nd. My first marriage should not have taken place but it had to in order for me to be here. I left my first husband. He divorced me. I met a man who lives in Sonoma County. We met and I discovered I love Sonoma County. I had palnned to move there in a few years when I retired from working at welfare. but fate had other plans the barn that my horse was boarded at gave notice it was closing, being sold for housing tracts. I decided I had 2 choices. Live in an apartment which to me is like a prison or make my move. I found a place to board my horse first, then a job, then a place for me to live. I did it in the 30 days. It was hard constant work but I moved. Drove myself and my horse from Fresno to Santa Rosa. I worked as the receptionist at the Press Democrat newspaper. I couldn't afford to live there on my retirement alone. While working at the newspaper, I got myself a computer. I used to have that funky WebTV thing. There was a  man I use to talk with once in a while online. We were just friends and nothing else. Well we met up online again just accidently. We decided to meet so we could at least see who it is we have been talking with the past 2 years. We met and have been together ever since.  He is a wonderful man and I am very lucky to have found him. We have been married for almost 3 years. The downside is 1 year after we got  married he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. That is a whole other story. We now take one day at a time and our lives have changed drastically.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Not much different. I am more mellow  and more discerning about my outspoken personality.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Right here at the same address doing my pottery and other art.

a postcard to my younger self

Hey self, you are in for a long interesting ride so saddle up and get moving.

my role models

I march to the beat of a different drummer...maybe Ginger Baker, maybe Mick Fleetwood, I am not sure...just joking. There are people in my life I really admire but for role models...I don't think so. My former family doctor comes to mind. She is one amazing woman. She grew up in a labor camp in Fresno. That in itself is a story.  My pottery teacher. She is an amazing woman..so talented and so humble ab out it and willing to share her knowledge unselfishly. Michelangelo comes to mind as a intense troubled person with a lot of dedication. There are many people I could name but not at this moment. My husband. He is so strong facing his disease.
