My Blog Circle:

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA but I now reside in Tulsa, OK.  I had 3 children with my first husband.  Then I divorced and married a man 9 years younger, who had 2 children.  We had one child together.  That makes a total of 6 kids who are all grown and out of the house but the last one.  I'm enjoying spending time with my husband, who I adore.

I am very active in my community and have worked extensively in local politics.  I currently work for a Christian production company.  Our company produces Christian and family films, television programs and live productions.

My passions are my family, friends, writing, photography, gardening.

I currently write a blog called My Nuggets of Truth which can be found at www.mynuggetsoftruth.blogspot.com

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I have gotten to where I am through a combination of joys and sorrows (LIFE), experiences that have joined together to make me who I am.  From losing my mother, to divorce and remarriage, to raising 6 children who I am so proud of, life has brought me here.

My husband has encouraged and even pushed me to shine...to follow my interests and callings.  I have had to work hard to overcome a lot of challenges and my work has led me to many wonderful people and awesome relationships in the community.

I expect life to take me on many more journeys and I can't wait to see what's ahead for me.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I have time for my interests and friends now.  I see myself through adults eyes instead of my kids eyes.  When the children were young, every thought and action was for them and about them.  I don't regret that and I wouldn't have it any other way.  But now, I feel myself rising from "somewhere" and evolving and going on a mission of discovery.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In ten years, I see myself surrounded by grandchildren.  I hope that I'm able to spend more time doing the things that I love with the people who I love.  Hopefully I will be traveling, following my passion for photography and writing!

a postcard to my younger self

Dear younger Erin,

You have always worked so hard and been so dedicated to the cause of others.  I wish that you would have taken more time for yourself so that you could have filled up your tank a little more often.  But you did a great job and I'm proud of you.

Relax and don't be so hard on yourself.  Take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

my role models

My biggest role model was my mother.  She showed me how very precious family is and she instilled a great love of God in me.

Other role models in my life have been the moms around me wno have worked hard at juggling families, careers and everything else in between.

I Blame It On the Uterus

I've been on a journey of creating myself that shows no sign of stopping. It seems strange to begin that journey in my early 50's. You would think that is a path you start in your 20's. But there is something about having a uterus and all that goes with it (if you're having children) that puts your path and your dreams on hold for a while.read more »

Other’s Green Grass Might Be Astro Turf

All those years, I neglected myself and thought that all those other moms were doing so much better than I was. Now I find out they thought the same thing about me. How ironic. How much better of a wife and mom would I have been if I had taken the time to get filled back up?read more »
