I was layed off from Saturn GM last May 2009.  I have spent the last year kind of bummin because the job market is so bad. Unemployed and could not find a job with all the plant lay offs.   Plus, I have been having problems with both my sons smoking you know what and getting caught and going to jail.  Then, one day in court the State took my youngest son for all kinds of trouble he was getting in.  It was a nightmare really what my husband and I have through this year.  It has been a heartbreaking year really.  But through it all I kept my faith and asked God to help me be strong.  He did not let me down and now everything is okay.  Both my boys are on the right track again, the oldest in college and the youngest back with us getting good grades and staying out of trouble.  So you see, even when things look the darkest...keep the faith, a sunny day will come again.

How did you get to where you are now?

I survived a tough year because I know that God, even when you think he is not listening, has something he wants me to learn.  I survived because I joined a great Church with a great pastor and the people in my church surrounded me with love and hope like a warm blanket. Praying for me and my family.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Not really, just older. I have always done my best in everything I do, what else is there? 

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Retired and traveling with my husband in an RV around the US. Meeting new people, visiting friends and relatives and seeing the beautiful world around us.

Why do you worry so much?  Try harder to complete college.

My mother was a great role model, unfortunately, I don't think I ever measured up in her eyes which always upset me.  I think of strong women like Barbara Striesand, but also women like Mother Theresa, that had a profound impact on helping the poor.  Also, since I love animals, Cesar Milan is a great inspiration.  People that make thier own path are so special.
