I just turned 61 and live and work in NJ for a large multi-national corporation.  I was married to my children's father for 24 years and happily divorced him when I finally realized I was the only adult in the relationship and knew I would be happier and better on my own.

I know this isn't the modern womanly thing, but most of the things I love to do, keep house, cook, bake, sew, etc., make me a domestic goddess, but I also enjoy golf, travel and celebrating every positive event.

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

I have been extremely fortunate to have had the guidance of wonderful mentors in my career and a job I love that provides a very comfortable living.  I am not highly educated, but have been offered opportunities to grow and succeed in my profession and have taken advantage of all the training and educational benefits that have been offered.  I count my blessings every day because, over the years, I have built a network of the most amazing friends who have supported me through the good times and the bad, and believe me, there have been some bad times with divorce and the death of my soul mate.  But the good times will always outweigh the bad times if you've got the right attitude.  The best part of my life is family and friends: 3 siblings, 2 children and 3 grandchildren - my grandchildren are the best gift I've ever received because the overwhelming love I have for them was the biggest surprise of my life.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I know now that people who don't wish you well don't get a spot on your dance card, and that it is far, far better to be alone than in bad company.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

MMMM.......retired I suppose, but while I've done the retirement planning thing, I'm not sure where I want to be.  That's going to be an evolving phase of my life.

Tattoo

I’m thinking of getting a tattoo – something small on my ankle. I never thought I would do something like this, but the more I think about it, the more I like…
