I turned 51 in Jan this year.2010. I am married with four adult sons.

I have been overweight all my adult life. I tried gastric stapling in 1983, in fact I was one of the first 100 candidates in Australia. Unfortunately I had major issues and had the surgery reversed in 1992 resulting in all my weight returning.

I divorced in 1999 after 21 years of marriage. I remarried and moved to the USA. I have been married ten years to my current husband.

I have fibromyalgia and diabetes which both affect my health. I have been unable to work for 2 years.

It is time to take control of my life again and improve my health. I love life, good friends and

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Not sure what they are actually asking here. My first thought was by aeroplane.

Truly I think I have reached this point in my life by allowing depression to rule too many of my decisions. Not that I am saying all of my life is a mess. I have 3 wonderful grandchildren who make life delightful.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Well ten years ago I was 100lbs lighter. I was more active and more vibrant.  I was newly married and full of expectations. Many of these have been met but not all.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I will be 60. Healthy fit and fun to be around. I will be surrounded by lots of grandchildren who will continue to be the joy in my life.

I will have taken up dancing and will spend lots of time exploring this amazing country I live in.

a postcard to my younger self

Girl you only get one chance at life. Don't waste all the wonderful opportunities life presents you. Never be afraid to take chances it could lead to amazing things.

Stay active don't abandon your sports they are what keep you healthy.

Life is too short to be miserable!

my role models

My mother is my greatest role model. I have learned so many things from her.  She is my closest friend someone who has always been there for me and someone who is never afraid to kick my butt when I need it.

I love you Mum.
