my VN interview
How did you get to where you are now?
If there has been an easy way to get something done or a hard way - I've done it the hard way every time. I am where I am now because of a strong work ethic, sheer determination, a supportive and loving family - and the good Lord just looks after me. I owe everything to Him.
How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?
I am more confident and not very concerned about what others think of me. I am happy with myself although I'm not satisfied with every part of my life. I listen more than I talk; I make better decisions; I laugh at myself more.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself writing, teaching, working...I don't see myself slowing down.
a postcard to my younger self
You know the blonde boy, blue eyes, curly hair in your 12th grade homeroom????
Don't.
You know the older guy, smooth talker, big fancy car?
Don't.
You know the younger guy, likes the Who, really smart but can't get in out of the rain??
Don't.
Remember your dreams of singing and writing and traveling and laughing and dressing up?
So. I went online and posted my picture and everything. My profile says I am independent and smart and funny. All true,by the way. It also says I would like to have butterflies in my tummy again. Also true.read more »

Dating again...well sort of. I think this form of dating, where I am dating them but they don't know it, might be safer than actually putting myself out there.read more »

"Well...I am almost 56 but here goes:
1. Surround yourself with funny women who can drop a curse word occasionally, dance with abandon, and do a shot :-)...and keep that all to themselves when they get back from the conference.
2. Wear a swim s..."
