my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Hard work along with some hard work - there is no secret, no matter what the book says! Don't push aside knowledge, for it is the basis for creativity, and creativity is in everything you do.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I am 'lighter' in the sense that little rattles me. I sail this ship in smooth waters, and have allowed my soul to peacefully surrender to 'what is' in this world. That being said, I am still passionate about many things, but instead of 'force' I am now moved in the direction of 'power'.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Because I'm in the mode of 'giving back' I suppose I will be continuing to do volunteer work and still lecturing. I will always be on a horse, and probably, if the political climate is quiet, traveling abroad more than I dare do today. Eventually the Marketing firm will move out to the farm. That will be fun!

a postcard to my younger self

You never stopped learning. You never gave up. You never shrank from anything. You were brave at places most people would run.

my role models

Arlene Dickinson: (from Dragon's Den) she does what I do, only bigger. I never wanted to get that big. However, that's changing.

W. Brett Wilson: (also from Dragon's Den) this man is soulful and good to the core. He has grace and class all the way.

My Dad: you gave me the softness within. You showed me that anything is possible. You never said 'no'.

My Mom: through your troubles, drinking and violence, you showed me what it was in life I didn't want - to throw my life away. I thank you for this gift. Not all gifts come in pretty packages. Love you...
