my VN interview

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

A decade ago, I was still a journalist, serving on the editorial board of my newspaper as op-ed page editor and an opinion writer. I wanted to succeed Molly Ivins someday as the most outspoken voice west of the Mississippi. Molly died nearly two years ago. I still really miss her brash, honest, clear voice. And now here I am, out of work, out of money, and, as of May 2010, no place to call home. I am in shock -- I never dreamed I would be in this position.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I will be honest. I can no longer see my self in 10 years.

Dearest girl -- Trust yourself. Do not fear to be your authentic, true self. Acknowledge the amazing being your are. Some will like/love you; some will not. Who cares?
