Grew up a spoiled-ish girl from the North Shore of Chicago.  Wow, how things change.  Could have fooled me.  And now I realize I should have planned better.  Should someone have suggested I might need to be self reliant some day???  Shocked and stunned into reality!  Wow, I was read too many fairytales as a youngster.

How did you get to where you are now?

It was too easy and incredibly arduous.  Too many divorces (yes, more than one but not as many as Liz or Ivana) and not enough PLANNING.  Was never a "how can I screw the ex out of all his money type"?  Oh the lessons we learn.  Financial insecurity did lead me to starting my own business as a private art dealer which admitedly has been amazing.  I've sold and offered museum quality art as well as "soon to be art star" youngsters.

Now being a cranky, world on tilt menopausal woman I'm following my slightly twisted mind in the blogosphere!  I started a very funny edgy blog for women who are peri or post pausal.  called   www.gonepausal.com   .  It is a gas and seems to be entertaining all my friends both male and female as well as readers I'd love to meet but probably never will.  Try it!   This is me up to the moment.

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

Older, blond, as the grey got too mighty for my brown hair to fight off and ok, ok, I'm not the grey type.  And mom wouldn't allow it!  At 91 she has black short hair.  Go mom;a true fashionista!  My skin looks crappier, but I'm moisturizing as hard as I can AND STANDING UP STRAIGHTER.  I'm still anxious and a bad, bad sleeper.  SHHHHH, no noise!  Oh and I worry more, if that's possible, which I guess it is.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Older, still blond, hopefully living in better weather and maybe living with a group of friends, which I think would be a gas. Like we did when we were young and poor.  Now we'll be old and poor?  But together.  I hope my blog or writing will be earning me a living  www.gonepausal.com   .  Come on, I had to do a little more self promotion....can't afford a publicity agent.  Grandchildren would be great, if my fabulous , soon to be a doctor son would find a woman.  And why women aren't living up to date him BAFFLES me.  Girls, he's so amazing!

I'll still be riding/jumping horses I hope.  Maybe I'll be sleeping better!

Dear Younger Self:  You moron, why, why, why didn't you think about a career back in high school?  Husbands  aren't careers, except in my case, but it was a really ill conceived idea.  They're hasta la bye-bye and you were left with an English degree.  Btw, there was no up-side to being so concilliatory in the settlements.  Bad girl.  They're rich and you're anxious.  Perhaps Ivana would have been helpful. 

Maybe if you had completed Girl Scout training and gotten more than 0 badges you would have learned to "BE PREPARED"!   Planning girlie, next time forget the Cinderella story and remember the "Little Match Girl".

My dog Elliot, who is able to fall asleep and stay asleep under any circumstances.  My Doberman Thurber who ran like the wind.  They both love and loved with all their heart!
