Lorri

I was born and raised in Montreal, QC, Canada. I currently live in Eastern Ontario near the Quebec border and have done so for the last 13 years. Although my sweetheart husband and I don't personally farm, we live on a farmette between the cows and the corn - and I love the wholesomeness of it all!

I was fortunate to be educated through the French Canadian school system, so I am fluent in French. I studied Bsn Admin at Bishop's University (Lennoxville, QC), then spent 2 years teaching English in Madrid, Spain, so yes, I also speak decent Spanish.

I married at 30 and am about to celebrate 25 years with my special guy who also happens to be the greatest agent for my personal growth - I give thanks every day for his presence in my life.

I spent the bulk of my career going from accounting clerk to retail lease administrator to A/R manager to franchise owner in business services. But I only realized, after being forced to close that business, that although I was good at accounting and bsn admin, I had no passion for it. So now I work to my passion: health, wealth and fitness (and wealth can mean many things here) as an independent associate in nutritional cleansing. No children, by design! I hope that is not too shocking, but I was a miserable child myself, never interested in child's play and far more interested in the adults in my entourage. I came to understand that it would be unfair of me to bring children into this world given I never had any affinity for my very own childhood. So now, instead of being involved in child rearing and more appropriately at my age, visiting the grandchildren, I devote time to learning how to play, because it certainly is not a given - and that is where my hubby really shines - he SOOOOOO knows how to play!

my VN interview

How did you get to where you are now?

Lots of psychotherapy!!!

At 25, I had an emotional breakdown and thank God for it - truly! I rose like a phoenix out of the ashes, thanks to therapy, but mostly to a huge awakening and a strong determination to learn from the experience. I have devoted myself ever since to personal growth, not shying away from my shortcomings, but instead working diligently toward the betterment of my body, my mind and my soul (and this to the betterment of those around me who had grown tired of the pain in the tooshie I had become). I thank God for the perserverance He has given me to embark on and stick to the incredible journey that is my life!

How do you see yourself differently now than you did 10 years ago?

I am far more hopeful about my ability to succeed in whatever I endeavour.

I am far less intense, more forgiving, of me and of others, though admittedly, I still have a ways to go ...

I am actually a "brand-new" me, both physically and emotionally, thanks to nutritional cleansing - I hope I don't sound hokey here, but really, I came to learn that nutritional cleansing was the Missing Link in my life - it boosted my nutrient intake and cleared the cobwebs from toxicity so that all my other efforts (exercise, good food choices, relaxation, prayer) finally came to bear fruit (where previously, I had only spun my wheels).

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Healthier than ever - at 55, I am already healthier than I have ever been, so I am betting on that trend continuing - my goal is to reach 120 - between excellent genes and nutritional cleansing, I have the tools to act accordgingly.

More spiritual than ever - like many people, I left my religious education in the dust somewhere around 18. It is rusty and I am just starting to polish it off - looking forward to where this new journey leads.

Happier than ever - since I never enjoyed children's games, it should come as no surprise that I have not indulged in adult play either. I have a great life coach in my husband and now that I have time on my hands, I plan on submitting myself to his loving guidance in LETTING GO and HANGING LOOSE! Emotional freedom - that's where I'm headed!

a postcard to my younger self

I am writing you this, Lorri - not because I expect you, at 20, to listen to me, a 55-yr old. No, I certainly have no illusions about you listening to me. Rather, I am writing this in self-validation of the life I have led so far, the obstacles I have overcome, the accomplishments I have racked up and the good fortune that has blessed my life (either through Divine intervention or the Law of Attraction or maybe a little of both) ...

LIGHTEN UP, my dear, you are waaaaaay too hard on yourself, and the stress of the burden you are placing  on yourself is going to make you degeneratively ill!!! Pay heed!

my role models

My sister - for her abilty to gear me out of self-pity ...

My husband - for his ability to tell the forest from the trees ...

Many underpriviledged - for their uncanny ability to rise above it all ...

Jesus - who suffered all the little children, and a whole lot more ...

My father - for his self-discipline ...

My mother - for her reminders that the only person in the room that is paying even remote attention to anything I am saying or doing or wearing ... is me ... In other words, chill out!
